The School of Education offers the following degree/diploma programs:
I. DIPLOMA IN EDUCATION (DIP-ED)
The courses offered in the Diploma in Education (Dip-Ed) program are within the frame work of two years. The program seeks to prepare graduates for teaching in secondary schools. This program offers the following areas of concentration:
II. BACHELOR OF EDUCATION (B. ED.)
This is a 3-year program (full time) that targets students who already have a diploma in education and form six leavers. The content prepares them to teach in secondary schools and teacher's training colleges. This program offers the following areas of concentration:
III. BACHELOR OF EDUCATION (B. ED.) PART-TIME PROGRAM
This is a 3 1/2 –year program. Students come twice a year when schools are closed (June – July and December – January).
IV. POST-GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN EDUCATION (PGDE)
This is a one academic year diploma intended for graduates who wish to be trained for teaching.
V. MASTER OF ARTS IN EDUCATION (M.A. ED.)
This is an 18-month program offered after one has graduated from either bachelor degree with education or bachelor of education. The program seeks to train professional teachers who have been and those who aspire to serve as school principals, deputy principals and supervisors of educational programs at primary and secondary schools, mid-level colleges, conferences, districts and provinces. This program offers two areas of concentration: a. Educational Management b. Curriculum and Instruction
