Message from the VC
As the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of this great institution of higher learning situated in Arusha, Tanzania I would like to say “Karibu Sana” in our sweetest Swahili language to all who are waiting diligently to be a part of us.
The University of Arusha is no mean institution of higher learning. You can only know about how great it is after committing yourself to be a part of it as a student. It is an institution which goes beyond all bars, being it religious, economic, political, social, etc. It also stands beyond all “isms” because we believe that God created all men/women equal. This is the first characteristic of the University of Arusha. It is an institution which believes in the dignity of man.
Based on the dignity of man, the University tries to explore all the faculties of students; training them mentally, physically, socially and spiritually. No student leaves the gates of UoA without been prepared wholistically and holistically. We put the best labour in the market for better service.
We have a campus which is cosmopolitan in nature with a blend of cultures; languages and nationalities. However, in all these we hold on to our university culture which encompasses mutual respect, dedication, etiquettes and the fear of the Lord.
Being a Seventh-day Adventist institution which believes in the wholistic development of a student we have many unique traits which help a student to feel at home with the confidence of completing their education. For example, we have the Student Work Program (SWP) which has helped many needy students to complete their studies. We also offer counseling services and pastoral care to our students who are struggling with life threatening issues which many other universities will not even care about.
We care about our students, and that is why there is a very high cordial relationship between the workers and the students. It is the only institution in Tanzania and the whole Africa where the CEO is called Papa/Daddy/Dad. It is a family. We protect each others interest.
We are expanding in all spheres of our existence, and we would like you to be a part of us. Be assured that we will welcome you wholeheartedly to our beautiful campus which is situated very close to Arusha National Park. We trust that you will not join alone but will also invite others to come with you.
I look forward to seeing you visit our campus and being a part of it.
God bless you.
Daddy
